UTS Foundation & Wirral CAMHS

The UTS Foundation is proud to announce that we will be launching the first phase of our Children and Adolescent Mental Health Project next month.

This exciting new project, which has been supported by 'Your Wirral Funding', will enable us to work in partnership with Wirral CAMHS (Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services) to help children and young people suffering with serious mental ill health conditions relating to violent or angry behaviour, depression, eating difficulties, low self-esteem, anxiety, obsessions or compulsions, sleep problems, self-harming, and the effects of abuse or traumatic events.

This brand new project, which commences on the 7th of March, will be the first of its kind on the Wirral; focusing on harnessing the power of physical activity and nutrition to improve the mental health and wellbeing of those who attend.

Working with Wirral CAMHS, we have developed a specifically targeted and co-ordinated programme of activity designed to utilise expert coaching, structured exercise and nutritional advice, and supporting workshops to directly challenge the issues that these young people face. This will be combined with mental health care and support with the CAMHS team to provide a truly holistic approach to tackling and treating mental health problems.

This is one of a number of free and targeted projects that the Foundation will be launching over the next few weeks; including post cancer care, and special education needs sessions, and we can’t wait to get started!

Thanks again to everyone who has donated or supported us so far.
