Foundation secures £10,000 to help more cancer patients.

Friends of the Foundation, we are delighted and proud to announce that we have just secured £10,000 in funding from the Anne Duchess of Westminster Charity.

The funding will pay for 2 years worth of Cancer Rehabilitation classes, structured exercise sessions and nutritional advice to individuals and groups referred by hospitals, GPs or individual applications.

Just last week Tony Berry and Dr Colin Robertson met with the lead cancer nurse for Wirral, Dawn Miller and her team of cancer nurses at Arrowe Park Hospital to evaluate the work so far and to discuss how the service could be developed further, so the timing of this funding bid is absolutely pivotal to our development and growth.

In addition, the funding allows us to enhance our portfolio of work and, thereby, bolster our prospects to open up a purpose built Foundation building next to the current UTS Gym. This will house a comprehensive range of bespoke equipment, classes and crucial services, such as 1-1 sessions, physiotherapy, scar tissue massage and workshop space that will help the vulnerable people we are currently working with.

Overall, a really great day for the Foundation and a special mention must go to Craig and Linda Pike who have been so supportive of us during the last few months, thank you!
