Wow! What a start to the week for the Foundation with the news from 2 funders that we have been successful with our funding applications.
The first is from Sport England, who have agreed to fund over £6,300 towards 192 hours of structured fitness, health and well being programmes to a group of over 150 targeted children and young people who have been diagnosed with a mental health problem, which is having a detrimental effect on their lives.
This will be an extension of our existing work with a range of partners including the NHS to offer therapeutic treatment alongside our health programme to meet the needs of each child/young person to improve their mental health and well being, whilst developing their knowledge around diet and nutrition through workshops and monitoring of eating habits.
In addition the Woodward Trust has agreed to help fund a summer camp that will allow us to offer a timetable of activity throughout the summer holidays so that young people from the local area can get involved in improving their health, well being, fitness and confidence.
A great start to the week for the Foundation as we continue to gather momentum by making a difference to our local community.
Dont forget to check out our brand new web site too - http://utsfoundation.com/ - which contains everything about who we are and what we do.
Have a great week!
