Springtime

Its springtime, the sun is shining and, like the fields and forests that surround us, the UTS Foundation continues to grow and flourish.

Today, the UTS Foundation met with University of Liverpool and the Interchange team whose purpose is to link in with Voluntary Sector Organisations to offer research and work-based learning projects for their undergraduates to discuss a unique partnership that will help drive our ambitious project forward.

This is an exciting and prestigious new partnership for the Foundation. Ranked in the top 1% of higher education institutions worldwide, Liverpool University is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of the UK's leading research universities. The university has 33,000 students, 7,500 of whom travel from all over the world to study here, and 211,000 alumni in 171 countries.

To help us create and achieve our vision we need the drive, passion and expertise of the young people based at Liverpool University who strive to improve themselves and the World around them. As you know, we are now offering a full range of health and fitness programmes for various vulnerable groups within our community and we are also continuing to forge ahead with our ambitions plans to transform an adjacent building and surrounding fields into a World Class Community Sports and Health Hub catering for the whole community through a series of projects, programmes and facilities.

Following todays meeting we will be liaising with third year students as they start their final year and inviting them to produce independent evaluation reports, in depth feasibility studies and case studies about the work that we do. Their will also be a focus on our plans to create something very special at Carr Lane and how that will impact on the Wirral as part of their final modules worth approximately 50% of their final mark. A crucial and valuable piece of work to say the least! This information can then be used to critically evaluate our work, improve our delivery, create stronger partnership networks, attract sponsorship, investment and support funding applications.

The UTS Foundation prides itself on excellence, learning and development and this new partnership will be a formidable catalyst for our project and our ambitions over the next few years and we are extremely excited to working with such a prolific University.
