Foundation Welcomes University Research Programme Undergraduates for Comprehensive Service Study

Earlier this year we met with International Students - University of Liverpooland the Interchange team whose purpose is to link in with charitable organisations to offer research and work-based learning projects for their undergraduates to discuss a unique partnership that will help drive our project forward.

As you are aware we are now offering a wide range of programmes for various vulnerable groups within our community and we are also continuing to forge ahead with our ambitions plans to transform an adjacent building and Carr Lane into a World Class Community Sports and Health Hub catering for the whole community through a series of projects, programmes and facilities.

To help us with our vision we need the drive, passion and expertise of the young people who strive to improve themselves and the World around them.

Working with Liverpool University will allow us to assess the work that we do through independent evaluation reports and case studies, alongside documentary and oral histories; feasibility studies; and community activities.

Third Year Sociology and Social Policy Undergraduate students, David Alyan and Lizzie Skillen will be focusing upon the impact of our project on mental health and cancer as part of their final year of study.

This is so we can produce balanced, independent reports about the work that we have delivered and forms part of their final modules worth approximately 50% of their final mark. A crucial and valuable piece of work to say the least!

This is an exciting and prestigious new partnership for the Foundation. Ranked in the top 1% of higher education institutions worldwide, Liverpool is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of the UK's leading research universities. The university has 33,000 students, 7,500 of whom travel from all over the world to study here, and 211,000 alumni in 171 countries.

The UTS Foundation prides itself on excellence, learning and development and this new partnership will be an formidable catalyst for our project and our ambitions over the next few years and we are extremely excited to working with such a prolific University.

The reports will be produced by late spring next year and we will be happy to share their findings with you.
