Diversionary Activities

Our 'Diversionary Activities' project, in partnership with the Wirral Community Police Team and tribe member James Selby, is now well and truly under way with Coach Dave Bolton, a former Detective Sergeant, offering a range of diverse, fun and challenging weekly circuit sessions to a group of vulnerable young people.

The project, which has been funded by the High Sheriff Fund in partnership with Community Foundation for Merseyside
is designed to allow organisations utilise partnership work to provide positive ways to tackle crime and anti social behaviour. Who better than Dave, who was told he would never walk again following a horrific motorcycle crash and then went on to be a World Kick Boxing Champion, to act as a great role model to this group of young people? Dave is, also recovering from a brain tumour and will be drawing on his experiences to educate and mentor the group.

The UTS Foundation believes that health, nutrition, sport and fitness is a great tool for challenging negative behaviour. We, also believe that positive, structured activity can help tackle a range of issues within our community and we are proud to support our local police officers and their team to help make the areas we live in happier and healthier places to be.
